Hello beautiful flower friends!
My name is Kristie Vis, owner and founder of The Country Petal. Jerseyville has always been home for me since I was a little girl. I've always been drawn to the beauty of country life, but it wasn't until I met my husband, Zach, that I truly experienced the heart of farming. The early mornings, the late nights, and the quiet stillness in between quickly became something I fell deeply in love with. There is a special kind of beauty that lives on a farm- one that slows you down, fills you up, and makes you feel truly at home.
Before starting the flower farm, I worked a traditional 9-5 job, but something always felt a little off. I couldn't quite explain it until one peaceful morning when everything suddenly became clear. I realized my purpose was to spread light, share colour, and bring joy to my community through flowers grown right here on the farm. It felt so natural, so deeply me, and in that moment everything made sense. I was so filled with excitement, gratitude, and joy I had never felt before.
Today, I am a flower farmer who finds happiness in the simplest things-muddy hands, sun-warmed petals, and the quiet magic of blooms bursting with colour. Being in nature grounds me and allows me to show up as the best version of myself. When I'm not in the fields, you'll often find me by the water, soaking in sunrises and sunsets, alongside my husband and our two fur babies, Denver and Johnnie.
I never truly knew what my purpose was until it gently found me. Now, I spend my days cultivating beauty, growing with intention, and sharing flowers that are meant to touch hearts, brighten days, and bring a little more light into the world.

ABOUT THE FARM
The Country Petal is more than just a field full of flowers — it’s a place where beauty is cultivated to touch hearts and brighten lives. Across rows of vibrant blooms, each flower tells a story of care, patience, and a deep love for nature. From the soft hues of petals to the gentle fragrance carried by the breeze, every detail reflects the harmony between people and the earth. Through this farm, I aim to share joy, inspiration, and peace — reminding others that true beauty flourishes when we nurture it with passion and purpose.
Throughout the seasons, you’ll find gorgeous blooms such as dahlias (my absolute favourite), anemones, lisianthus, cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers, peonies, and so many other specialty varieties grown right here in our fields. We proudly offer wholesale flowers to our local florists, sharing the beauty of locally grown blooms harvested fresh and full of life. We also provide floral design for weddings and special events — thoughtfully creating arrangements that cultivate beauty and truly touch people’s lives.
Our Country Petal Farmstand is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00am–5:00pm, offering gorgeous hand-tied bouquets, fresh produce from our fields, and farm-fresh eggs from our happy hens. For those who love to get creative, we offer breathtaking DIY bloom buckets filled to the brim with seasonal flowers — perfect for special events and meaningful gatherings. Workshops are also on the horizon, along with many more exciting offerings to come.
Seasonal bouquets are available for monthly purchase, allowing you to enjoy farm-fresh beauty in your home or share a little brightness with someone special. We are an operating flower farm from early spring through fall, with plans to expand into year-round blooms in the near future.
At The Country Petal, our flowers are grown with care, designed with intention, and chosen for their unique beauty — each stem meant to brighten everyday life. There is so much beauty in the ordinary, and it is my heart’s desire to share that with you through flowers grown with so much love.
